THE MOUSE...
"My inspiration is from a dream. It is a cat with his tail in the air and flowers are emerging from it. I decided to make a #-D version. The cat is the vase with the tail curled around the stem of the flower with the Microsoft mouse in the center. I sculpted the cat out of clay, then painted it in vivid acrylic paint and glitter."

THE ARTIST...
At the age of ten, Leroy Morvant discovered his love of painting that began with summer art lessons. This would be his steady focus through college. Leroy’s primary pursuit was realism, while experimenting with several mediums: oil, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and pen and ink. After twelve years he needed a break from painting, and decided to put the brush down for a few months. This turned into four years. Upon his return to the palette, the goal was to have fun with color, composition and line. He had no idea how to achieve these goals, and thus far his approach had always been with a specific result in mind. Determined to challenge this concept, he began drawing with his eyes closed while meditating. This was an exercise to free him from any preconceived ideas. This style and these figures and were born out of these exercises. Leroy no longer draws with his eyes closed, and the result is a continued development of that style.
