IN A NUTSHELL...
Tails of the City is a unique, only-in-San Francisco charity auction and art exhibition. More than
125 celebrities, big cheeses
and renowned artists have donated their talents
to creatively interpret Microsoft computer mice. The bidding begins online, and then
culminates with a final live auction and cocktail gala on May 17th. (If you have
your heart set on buying one of the mice, we suggest you purchase a ticket to
attend the May 17th event as attendees will be able to outbid online bids, which
close May 13th at midnight PST.)
You can preview the mice from March 23 - May 16, 2001 at microsoftSF, the
Microsoft store on the second floor of Metreon in downtown San Francisco.
Admission is free.
Proceeds from the Tails of the City auction go to Destination Foundation, a
non-profit organization that grants dream trips to people in the San Francisco
Bay Area gay community who are living with life-threatening illnesses, such
as AIDS and breast cancer.
To purchase tickets to the May 17th
auction or for more information, call
Destination Foundation at (415) 970-3333.

THE FIRST TAILS OF THE CITY...
The first Tails of the City cocktail party and auction was held May 18th, 2000 at
microsoftSF at Metreon. The cast of The Simpsons, Kate Spade, Bill Gates, and
Grateful Dead album cover artist Stanley Mouse were among the 100+ artists who
created mice for the auction, which raised over $80,000.
